Introducing “Share the Good” – Our Referral Program that Gives Back

Since our founding in 1905, Thomson Printing has experienced tremendous growth through word-of-mouth referrals, resulting in the company’s expansion to Giant Hat web development and Hey There digital marketing. Continuing on that tradition, we set out to find a way for these referrals to make an even bigger impact not only on our company, but on the community as a whole.

John Meilink, President of Thomson Printing and its subsidiaries Giant Hat and Hey There, is a strong believer in community philanthropy. Our team members across the Giant Hat and Hey There Digital companies (GH/HTD) are personally involved in local charitable organizations, providing support in various ways, like sitting on executive boards, making financial contributions and volunteering time and other resources. To honor our passion for philanthropy and the company’s deep-rooted history in the St. Louis area, we are starting a program that extends our impact on the community even farther.

Beginning September 2018, GH/HTD launches a new referral program for digital services: Share The Good. With each referral to GH/HTD that leads to a new client starting a web development or digital marketing project with us, our company will make a donation to one of our partner charities.

We have chosen six amazing local organizations to be the recipients of these donations:

  1. The Center for Autism Education (CAE) helps individuals reach their full potential in all areas of life. CAE provides support to a variety of families and individuals in need through a school-based program serving grades K-12 and a day program for adults ages 21 and older.
  2. Jewish Family & Children’s Services (JF&CS) offers compassionate support and practical solutions to help people in the community navigate life’s challenges. The licensed professional staff at JF&CS assist the elderly, protect children at risk, provide food and services to the needy and resolve family problems.
  3. Lydia’s House provides a supportive and stable environment for women and children in crisis. These women and their children live in community housing, share life and meals with one another and are encouraged in their personal spiritual journeys. Lydia’s House is proud to be a place of hope and healing as well as a springboard from which guests can seek training, new skills and work that will provide for their needs. At the end of their stay, each woman and her children are assisted in finding and moving into long-term housing.
  4. Perennial sponsors a community workshop dedicated to creative reuse—the process of artistically transforming discarded goods into objects of worth—and offers this educational programming to diverse populations. Perennial also sells handmade DIY kits and tools for reuse projects in an effort to create a culture of sustainability in St. Louis. At Perennial, anyone can learn how to turn trash into amazing treasures!
  5. United Services for Children provides pediatric therapy and early intervention services to children of all abilities and offers support services for their families. The organization is currently working toward developing a Children’s Museum in St. Charles County that is designed for universal access, meaning that people of any physical or intellectual ability can use and enjoy the museum at all times.
  6. Unlimited Play helps plan, design and build fully accessible playgrounds that allow all children—regardless of their abilities—to play together. A valuable resource in our community, Unlimited Play has unique expertise in the development of inclusive playgrounds that promote dignity, understanding and respect among children.

We are infinitely proud to be partnering with these fantastic organizations and invite you to learn more about their missions. And we extend our thanks to the many clients and organizations that have done business with us over the years.

If you’ve enjoyed the benefits of our services in web development, website maintenance or digital marketing, be sure to let your friends and colleagues know. Together, we can make a huge difference in our community!
